Griechenland
Greece, at the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula, borders Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Four seas wash its shores: the Aegean, the Cretan, the Ionian and the Mediterranean. Known for its 2,500 islands, including Crete and the Cyclades, it has a coastline 14,880 km long. The cradle of Western civilisation, Greece offers 18 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Summer temperatures reach 30°C, making it an ideal holiday destination. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when it is warm but not scorching.
