Timisoara
Timișoara, the largest city in the Banat, lies in western Romania and serves as the administrative centre of Timiș County. It is an important transport hub with an international airport. The city has around 318 thousand inhabitants and is known for its machinery, chemical and textile industries. The Hunyadi Castle and the 18th-century Old Town Hall are well worth a visit. The best time to come is spring and early autumn, when the weather is ideal for sightseeing.
