Longyearbyen
Longyearbyen is the capital of Svalbard, a Norwegian province on the island of Spitsbergen, located by the Adventfjorden bay. Home to about 2,500 people, including Norwegians, Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians, the town originated as a coal mining center and now serves as a hub for Arctic tourism. The best time to visit is summer, when temperatures range from 3 to 7 °C. In winter, they are significantly lower, and the polar night lasts from October to February, creating a unique atmosphere for nature enthusiasts.
